Hello All!
Hope you are all enjoying your summer vacation. Currently, we have the following activities planned for the summer:
Hilo Chapter sign-waving
We will be sign-waving to support our recommended candidates on Tuesdays this summer along Kamehameha Avenue in front of the Kamehameha Statue, Hilo Bayfront from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. (6/14, 6/21, 6/28, 7/5, 7/12, 7/19). Please wear red HSTA t-shirts.
Representative Mark Nakashima our endorsed candidate for House District #1 will be holding community meetings – Wednesday, 6/15 at 6:00 p.m. at Kulaimano Center in Pepeekeo. Monday, 6/20 at 6:00 p.m. at Laupahoehoe Public Library, Humanities Room. Wednesday, 6/22 at 6:00 p.m. at De Silva Elem. School Cafeteria. Thursday, 6/23 at 6:00 p.m. at North Hawaii Education and Research Center (NHERC) in Honokaa. Saturday, 7/30 at 11:00 a.m. at Paauilo Mauka Kalopa Community Assn. General Meeting in Kalopa State Park. If you can attend, please come to support and wear any HSTA shirt.
Hilo Triathlon
Volunteers are needed for body marking: Saturday, 7/9 from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Hilo Hawaiian Hotel, Moku O’la Room. Sunday, 7/10 from 5:00 – 7:00 a.m. at James Kealoha Beach Park. Wear red HSTA shirt. Please contact Rae Yamanaka if you are able to help.
Kai Kahele Activities
Phone Banking
Senator Kai Kahele is our endorsed candidate for Senate District #1 and he is asking for help on 7/5, 7/6, 7/7, 7/11, 7/12 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at his campaign HQ in Keaukaha (next to Verna's)
Mass-Sign-waving
Senator Kahele will be having a mass sign-wav ing on July 13th at 4:30 p.m. in front of the Kamehameha Statue, Hilo Bayfront.
Fundraiser
Senator Kahele is having a fundraiser on July 14th at Aunty Sally’s Luau Hale. If you can help at the registration/Sign-in table from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. please let us know.
