The Maui HSTA Membership Committee has partnered with the Maui Group of the Sierra Club of Hawaii. We are working together to organize HSTA events at different sites on Maui. HSTA members will receive Sierra Club member pricing for specific events.
Join us for an archaeological hike at a preservation site to protect native forests and cultural sites from development. There is a hike scheduled for Saturday, December 16 that is open to the public, but pending enough interest, we can have our own HSTA event.
Please RSVP to victoriazupancic2386@gmail.com for this event and place "RSVP Wailea 670" in your subject line.
Details of the Hike: Wailea 670/Palau’ea (C/E) South Maui 2 miles Archaeological hike with Dr. Janet Six. Visit prominent cultural complexes in Wailea 670 preserve to mark sites. Rugged terrain. Closed shoes/boots, long pants and good balance a must. Bring water, hiking stick, cameras.
The Maui Group of the Sierra Club has also offered to host hikes around the island and be a potential resource for our classrooms. If you have any interest in a particular hike on Maui, please email the address above to get started on setting up a date. |
