What's at stake in the HSTA Omnibus Bill

When the legislative session opened, HSTA was front and center lobbying legislators. We were thrilled to hear that Governor Ige heard our collective voices and made cooling public schools a part of his State of the State address. Now, we are making sure that public schools are on the forefront of the agenda for all lawmakers.

Instead of taking a "hunt and peck" approach by asking legislators to solve one issue at a time, your HSTA lobbying team will be asking for broad spectrum changes in the way that schools are funded and run.

This Omnibus Bill was drafted as a direct result of the listening campaign held earlier this year. You told us what you needed to be successful with your students and we folded it into a campaign that will meet all your needs.

The Omnibus Bill is your bill. Read more about the HSTA Omnibus Bill

NEA Human & Civil Rights Minority and Women's Leadership Training Programs

Congratulations to those selected to attend the Minority Leadership (MLT) and Women’s Leadership (WLT) Training Conference in San Francisco, California. The MLT and WLT programs prepare educators to be powerful advocates for their students, their profession, and their Association. This conference prepares ethnic-minority members with foundational leadership skills and teaches them how to advocate for student-policies and social justice issues that impact their schools and communities.
